Reggie White Pro Bowl Uniform and Watch Highlight Worthridge Fall Sports Auction

A significant amount of items from Reggie White’s personal collection will be available in the Worthridge Fall Sports Auction, beginning November 19.IMG_3054

The highlight of the Reggie White Collection is his 1992 Pro Bowl NFC jersey and pants. This beautiful uniform, made by Wilson, shows game usage and comes with letters of authenticity from the White estate as well as JSA.

Other items in the collection include White’s 1991 Pro Bowl watch, a 1996 Pro Bowl football signed by Reggie and over 40 of his NFC teammates, a collection of his game worn shoes from both his time with the Eagles and Green Bay Packers, game worn helmets from several NFL superstars including Jerry Rice, as well as numerous game balls, Packers autographs, and other White memorabilia.

Reggie White joined the Philadelphia Eagles after a All-American career at the University of Tennessee and a two-year stint with the Memphis Showboats of the USFL. White’s impact on the Eagles was immediate, leading the team with 13 sacks and setting the foundation for seven consecutive Pro Bowl selections as a member of the Eagles. In tandem with his close friend and teammate the late Jerome Brown, the Eagles possessed one of the stingiest defenses of their era.

Worthridge is proud to present the Reggie White Collection, and all items will be a part of their second Sports Memorabilia Auction, running from November 19 until December 6.

Hall of Fame Kansas City Chiefs Coach Hank Stram’s Super Bowl IV Ring Highlights Upcoming Auction From Worthridge

Ring of “The Mentor,” NFL Hall of Fame coach Hank Stram “matriculates” its way to auction.IMG_3041

This is your opportunity to own a Super Bowl ring owned by one of the greatest coaches, innovators, motivators, and men in professional football history- Hank Stram.

Close your eyes and you can see the nattily attired Stram patrolling the sidelines, in his navy blue blazer with a red pocket square and Chiefs spearhead logo on the breast pocket, exuberantly leading his 1969 Kansas City team to victory in Super Bowl IV. Thanks to NFL films, we remember Stram enthusiastically telling his Hall of Fame quarterback Len Dawson to run “65 toss power trap” and encouraging his Chiefs to “keep matriculating the ball down the field.”

The ring, which weighs 26 pennyweight, is 10k gold, featuring a natural one karat diamond surrounded by 10 smaller diamonds (one for each year the franchise spent in the AFL), ranging in size from three to five points, set in a white gold football shaped crest. The crest is set into a glowing synthetic ruby. On one shank is the American Football League seal surrounded by a crown. The three points of the crown list the Chiefs AFL championships- 1962 (as the Dallas Texans) 1966, and 1969. In between the AFL logo and championships is the score of the final title game in AFL history, Chiefs 17, Oakland Raiders 7. At the bottom of the shank is one word- “confidence.” The other shank has the game’s score above the Super Bowl trophy. Over the Super Bowl trophy is an oval shaped globe, symbolizing the Chiefs world championship. On one side of the Lombardi Trophy is a laurel twig, symbolizing achievement and victory. On the other side is a piece of ivy, symbolizing fidelity and immortality. At the bottom of the shank is one word- “poise.”

Also in this collection is a Kansas City Chiefs track suit made for and worn by Stram.

Both items include a letter of authenticity from the Stuart Stram.

Worthridge is proud to present this collection, and all items will be a part of their second Sports Memorabilia Auction, running from November 19 until December 6.

Jerry Rice Autographed Game Worn Helmet, Inscribed to Reggie White, Highlights Worthridge Fall Sports Auction

A significant amount of items from Reggie White’s personal collection, including this MEARS and JSA authenticated Jerry Rice helmet will be available in the Worthridge Fall Sports Auction, beginning November 19.

RiceBlog
Here is an opportunity to own a gift exchanged between two of the greatest players in the history of the National Football League. Jerry Rice gave this game used and autographed helmet to Reggie White, most likely after one of the seven NFL Pro Bowls in which they both participated between 1989 and 1995.

The autograph, in black Sharpie, is inscribed-

To: Reggie-
The best I’ve ever seen!–
Jerry Rice #80

Jerry Rice and Reggie White combined to play in 26 Pro Bowls, won four Super Bowls, and were named first team All Pro a staggering 22 times. In a 2014 Documentary of the 100 Greatest Players in NFL History, White ranked #7 while Rice was voted as the best player in the history of the League.

What is Immortality Worth?

You can collect baseball cards, cars, paintings, or a thousand other things. You may find dozens of Honus Wagner T206 cards, or a few 1957 Ferrari Testa Rossas. You could even acquire multiple Van Gogh masterpieces. These items are quite rare and valuable, but wouldn’t you rather own something so rare that it’s truly one-of-a-kind? Presented here is the only item given to the family of the late, great Reggie White by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Don’t bother searching for a comparison; there is none.

Offered in the Worthridge.com Summer Sports Auction is the presentation award that was given to White’s widow, Sara, and his son, Jeremy, at his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This singular item represents White’s 15 seasons in the NFL, his appearance in 13 Pro Bowls, 12 All-Pro Selections, 2-Time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, over 1,100 tackles, 198 sacks (ranked 2nd all time and 1st all time including his time in the USFL with a total of 221.5 sacks). White was elected to the 1980’s & 1990’s All-Decade Teams and is represented as an all-around team leader because of his perseverance and determination on and off the field, as well as his dedication to the pursuit of excellence. Reggie White is universally recognized as one of the top ten players in NFL history, and his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame is the crowning moment of his distinguished football career.

If someone asked you to name the greatest player to be alive and present at their Hall of Fame induction, you might say Jerry Rice, Jim Brown, Johnny Unitas, or Lawrence Taylor. The Hall of Fame gives these great players two awards: a ring and a jacket. This award is significant and unique in this collection, because of White’s posthumous induction into the HOF. Most every other player is also given a jacket and ring to commemorate the event, however White’s family was only gifted with this sole item to immortalize his legacy and his incomparable career.

Other highlights in the collection include White’s game worn jersey from Super Bowl XXXII, an incredible collection of his game worn shoes from the entire 1996 season including a pair of his Super Bowl XXXI game used shoes, game worn helmets from several NFL superstars, and several trophies awarded to White during his career, as well as numerous game balls and Packers autographs. Also included are two of Reggie White’s game worn Eagles helmets, several game balls awarded to him, his 1989 Mackey Award, his 1991 NFL Alumni Defensive Player of the Year award, and a Randall Cunningham game worn jersey.

After spending the first two years of his career with the USFL’s Memphis Showboats, Reggie White joined the Eagles for the 1985 season. Despite playing just eight seasons in Philadelphia, White is the team record holder with 124 sacks, more than 40 sacks ahead of his nearest competitor. In his second season with the club, White amassed 18 sacks and earned the first of an incredible 13 consecutive Pro Bowl appearances.

White’s strike-shortened 1987 season was one of the greatest seasons by any defensive player in history, as he totaled 21 sacks and forced four fumbles in only 12 games. He again led the league in sacks in the 1988 season, and set an NFL record for linemen with 13 pass deflections in 1991. White tallied more than a sack per game in his Eagles career, and is universally considered the greatest player in team history.

Reggie White joined the Green Bay Packers in 1993 as the biggest free agent signing in NFL history. He combined with a young Brett Favre to turn the Packers into instant NFC contenders. After falling just short of the Super Bowl in White’s first three seasons in Green Bay, the duo lifted the team to its first title in almost three decades in the 1996 season. In winning his only championship at any level, White set a Super Bowl record with three sacks. Reggie White spent six seasons in Green Bay, registering 68.5 sacks and winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award in his final season with the franchise.

Worthridge is proud to present the Reggie White Collection, and all items will be a part of their debut Sports Memorabilia Auction, running from June 8 to June 29.
